Hon Dale A. Kimball, U.S. District Court, District of Utah

 

Hon. Dale A. Kimball is a federal judge for the United States District Court of Utah. He joined the court in 1997 after being nominated by President Bill Clinton. He assumed senior status on November 30, 2009. Judge Kimball is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation; Master of the Bench, American Inn of Court I; a Board Member of the Salt Lake Chapter of the Federal Bar Association; and an Adjunct Professor of Law at BYU Law School. Judge Kimball received a B.S. in Political Science from Brigham Young University and J.D. from the University of Utah Law School where he finished second in his class, Order of the Coif.

Dr. Kelly K. Matthews, is Professional in Residence at the Woodbury School of Business, Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Retiring in 2010 as an Executive Vice President and Economist at Wells Fargo, he was responsible for local, regional and national economic analysis and forecasting. He was also the Wells Fargo government affairs officer based in Salt Lake City. His research opinions were widely read by the financial and business community and he was regularly quoted in newspapers, radio and on television. Over 37 years, it was estimated that he gave 7,600 economic talks to civic, educational and business groups. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Dr. Matthews served as First Security Corporation’s Chief Economist for 27 years. He was also an adjunct professor of finance at the University of Utah from 1975–2006.

Personality Disorders in the Legal Arena

Noel C. Gardner, M.D., M.Div. is Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry and Adjunct Professor of Family and Preventive Medicine at the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City, where for many years he was Chief of the Division of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry. Currently, he divides his time between two professional roles – he is the Medical Director of a community mental health center in Salt Lake City; and he has a private practice of forensic psychiatry, serving as an expert for both criminal and civil cases. He continues to actively teach in the School of Medicine, the Psychiatry residency program, and the Division of Medical Ethics and Humanities at the University of Utah. Dr. Gardner has spoken on a variety of subjects, including the neurobiology of mood disorders, a wide range of topics in psychopharmacology, theories of personality and personality disorders, the psychodynamics of functional illness, and various topics in forensic psychiatry.
